brochure

The Catholic Institute for Applied Anatomy was established in October 1999 for the effective management of donated bodies through anatomical education and research related with donated bodies and for the development of basic and clinical medicine. Donated bodies are used for various purposes at the Institute including anatomical practicum for the undergraduate students at College of Medicine, The Catholic University of Korea, clinical anatomy and surgical anatomy classes for physicians at Catholic University Hospital, and sample preparation and management using donated bodies. Domestic and international seminars and training sessions are also held in basic and clinical medicine. Furthermore, research is conducted in clinical and surgical anatomy and physical and forensic anthropology. The ultimate goal of various activities done at the Institute using donated bodies is to fulfill the wish of all of those people who had donated their body, i.e., to combat disease through disease research by placing joint efforts with clinicians.
