The institute was established as the first inter-university research center of the country in March 2005, with the aim of producing global-standard research achievements and of promoting the development of scientific technology via a combination of the outstanding research capacity of Postech and the excellent clinical research experience of Catholic University. We are currently striving to facilitate research collaboration and academic exchange between the two universities in such areas of research and development as immunomodulation, immunomodulating therapeutics, physiological activity modulators, cutting-edge medical devices, and clinical diagnostic and imaging techniques. We will maintain our commitment to becoming the nations best biomedical research institute with world-class quality and to helping patients afflicted with chronic pain by promoting collaborative research and developing new therapies and cutting-edge medical devices
