유태룡 교수는 가톨릭대학교 의과대학을 졸업하고 동 대학원에서 신경손상 질환의 병태생리 연구로 의학석사 및 이학박사 학위를 취득하였습니다. 가톨릭의대 해부학교실에서 조교, 연구강사를 거쳐 2022년 임용되었으며, 현재 신경아교세포(neuroglial cell), 뇌혈관장벽(blood brain barrier, BBB) 및 뇌막(meninges) 등을 구성하는 비신경성 세포(non-neuronal cell)의 역할을 규명하는 데 매진하고 있습니다. 특히 동물 모델 및 인체 조직을 활용한 멀티오믹스 및 멀티스케일 이미징기법을 활용하여 분자-세포-조직 수준을 통합하는 병리 기전을 연구합니다. 이를 통해 뇌 장벽 조절을 통한 난치성 신경질환의 혁신적인 치료 기술 개발을 최종 목표로 하고 있습니다.
Tae-Ryong (Tim) Riew, M.D., Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy at the Catholic University of Korea. He earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from the same institution, focusing on the pathophysiology of neurological diseases. His research explores the critical roles of non-neuronal cells, including neuroglial cells, the blood-brain barrier (BBB), and the meninges. By integrating multi-omics and multi-scale imaging techniques across animal models and human tissues, Dr. Riew seeks to bridge the gap between molecular mechanisms and tissue-level pathology. His ultimate goal is to develop transformative therapeutic strategies for intractable neurological disorders by modulating the brain’s protective barriers.
