Department of Emergency Medicine
View List
The department launched its resident fellowship training program in 1990, and regularized its lectures in 1995. The current system was officially recognized as a department in 1998, a year which also saw the launch of our Masters and Ph.D. degree programs.
We are in the whole responsibility for affairs related to emergency medicine including the initial treatment of emergency patients with non-surgical and surgical needs, and the treatment of intoxicated patients in the affiliated hospitals of the Catholic Medical Center. We are also conducting educational activities such as the training of resident fellows of emergency medicine, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation training in the hospitals, and education on emergency medicine for the community, including firefighters and emergency medical technicians. We teach students on our Masters and Ph.D. degree programs in the graduate school, and conduct research into Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and toxicology in the departmental lab located in the Catholic Research Institute of Medical Science.
