The medical discipline of orthopedics is dedicated to the investigation, conservation and development of the shape and function of the limbs, the spine and their adnexa by non-surgical, surgical and physical means. The department was established in November 1960 and currently consists of 55 faculty members and 59 resident fellows in 8 affiliated hospitals.
