 Regulations on Refund of Tuition and Admission Fees

Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of these regulations is to specify matters relating to refund of tuition (including school membership dues) and admission fees of the School.

Article 2 (Causes for refund) If tuition and admission fees for a semester have been paid, and any of the following occurs in the same semester, the tuition and admission fees may be refunded. Notwithstanding the foregoing, an exception shall be made in the event of an expulsion.

1. If a student is unable to enter the school (including re-admission and transfers; the same shall apply hereinafter) or continue his/her studies in accordance with the law

2. If a person who has been granted admission has expressed his/her intent to waive admission

3. If an enrolled student has expressed the intent to withdraw

4. If a person does not enter the School or discontinues his/her studies due to a personal illness, death, natural disaster or other inevitable circumstances

Article 3 (Standards for refunds) The standards for refund of admission fees and tuition are as set forth in the table below. [Amended 2007.3.23., 2015.1.1]

Article 4 (Method of payment) An eligible student who has reason to seek a refund shall submit an application for withdrawal to the Academic and Student Affairs Office via his/her advisor, department (chair), associate dean and the Dean. The Academic and Student Affairs Office shall receive approval from the Vice-President, attaching the application for withdrawal, then notify the Secretariat.

The Secretariat shall determine the refundable amount based on the standards for refund, receive approval from the Vice-President, then issue the refund.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, if a person who has passed the admission process (including re-admission and transfers) waives his/her admission before the wait list admission period, such person shall submit a waiver of admission to the Admissions Headquarters, receive approval from the head of the Admissions Headquarters, and receive his/her refund from the Secretariat.

 

Addenda

 

Article 1 (Enforcement Date) These Regulations shall enter into force on 1998.2.9, and apply from 1997.9.1.

These regulations shall enter into force on 1999.6.14.

These regulations shall enter into force on 2002.7.1.

These regulations as amended (Article 3) shall enter into force from 2004.10.19, and shall be applied retroactively to tuition and admission fees from the Fall semester of the 2004 academic year onwards.

These regulations as amended shall enter into force from 2007.3.23, and shall be applied retroactively to tuition and admission fees from the Spring semester of the 2007 academic year onwards.

 

Addendum

 

Article 1 (Enforcement Date) These amended Regulations (Attachment 3) shall enter into force on 2015.1.1.
