Chapter 1 General Provisions
Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of the general graduate school and the respective special graduate schools of The Catholic University of Korea (hereinafter “the school”) is, in accordance with Article 28 of the Higher Education Act and the educational philosophy of the School, to cultivate competent professionals with concern and respect for humanity, develop balanced members of society who will contribute to the advancement of our national culture, and nurture citizens of the world who contribute to the progress and peace of humankind. <Amended 2009.3.1>
Article 2 (Types of Graduate School) The School shall have the following graduate schools: <Amended 2007.9.1, 2009.3.1., 2012.5.3., 2014.11.22.>
1. General Graduate School
2. Special Graduate Schools: Graduate School of Business Administration, Graduate School of EducationGraduate School of Canon Law, Graduate School of Culture & Spirituality, Graduate School of Social Welfare, Graduate School of Counseling, Graduate School of Public Administration, Songeui Campus Graduate School of Public Health, Nicholas Cardinal Cheong Graduate School For Life, Graduate School of Healthcare and Policy, Graduate School of Clinical Nursing Science, Graduate School of Clinical Dental Science, Songsin Campus, Graduate School of Church Music (hereinafter “special graduate schools”) <Amended 2017.01.25, 2017.9.22>
3. Professional Graduate School: Graduate School of Medicine
Article 3 (Programs of the graduate schools) ① Each of the graduate schools shall have master’s degree programs, doctoral degree programs, and combined master’s and doctoral degree programs (hereinafter referred to as “combined programs”; the master’s degree programs, doctoral degree programs and the combined programs shall be referred to collectively as “the programs”), as shown in Attachments 1, 2 and 3. <Amended 2009.3.1>
② The General Graduate School may have joint programs established and operated by two or more departments (hereinafter referred to as “joint interdepartmental programs”), and joint programs installed and operated under contracts with research institutions or businesses (hereinafter referred to as “joint academic-research-industrial programs”).
③ The graduate schools may have research programs which do not offer degrees.
Article 3-2 (Contract departments) ① The graduate schools may establish and operate master’s or doctoral degree programs under contracts with the state, regional administrations or businesses, etc., in accordance with Article 8 of the “Promotion of Industrial Education and Industry-Academic Cooperation Act”. Matters relating to the operation of such programs shall be separately specified.
② The names of contract departments, their enrollment quotas and names of degrees conferred thereby are as listed in Attachment 4.

Article 4 (Departments, majors and admission quotas) ① The departments (majors) and admission quotas to be installed in the graduate schools shall be as shown in Attachment 1, Attachment 2 and Attachment 3, respectively; however, separate admission quotas shall be provided for persons falling under the following categories. <Amended 2006.9.1, 2009.3.1, 2013.10.8>
1. Conscripted students prescribed by ordinance of the Ministry of Education
2. Foreign students whose parents are both non-Korean nationals
3. Korean expatriates and foreigners who have completed all education corresponding to Korean elementary, secondary and university education overseas
② A non-specified number of candidates may be admitted to research programs or special programs.
Chapter 2 Admissions
Article 5 (Admissions period) The admissions period for the graduate schools shall be within 30 days of the date each semester begins.
Article 6 (Qualifications to apply for admission) ① Persons who wish to be granted admission to the master’s degree programs, combined programs and research programs of the graduate schools shall meet the following qualifications.
1. Holding a bachelor's degree from a university in or outside Korea (including those expecting to acquire the same)
2. Persons acknowledged by law to have an academic background equivalent to Item 1
② Persons who wish to be granted admission to doctoral degree programs of the General Graduate School shall meet the following qualifications.
1. Holding a master's degree from a university in or outside Korea (including those expecting to acquire the same)
2. Persons acknowledged by law to have an academic background equivalent to Item 1
③ When necessary due to the nature of a graduate school department (major), additional qualifications may apply in addition to those under Paragraphs 1 and 2 of the present Article. Relevant details shall be prescribed through the Academic Enforcement Regulations of each graduate school (hereinafter referred to as the “enforcement regulations”).
④ Currently employed faculty members of the School who are assistant professors or higher may not enroll in doctoral degree programs; however, the President may grant admission on the condition that such faculty member take a leave of absence, giving consideration to the nature of the academic discipline. <Amended 2012.7.22>
Article 7 (Application procedure) Persons applying for admission to a graduate school shall submit the documents prescribed in the enforcement regulations and pay the application fee.
Article 8 (Admissions procedure) Graduate school admissions programs may be divided into general and special admissions. The admissions programs shall consist of a document review, written examination and interviews, etc. to reflect the talents, aptitudes and competencies of candidates. Details relating to methods and standards for the admissions procedure shall be specified in the enforcement regulations. <Amended 2006.3.1, 2006.9.1>
Article 9 (Majors for admission) Departments (majors) in each of the graduate schools which may accept applications for admission shall be specified in the enforcement regulations.
Article 10 (Transfers) ① The maximum number of transfer students allowed into each department (major) shall be the enrollment quota for the given academic year minus the number of students currently enrolled; provided, however, that persons who fall under Article 30, Paragraph 3 of the Enforcement Decree to the Higher Education Act may be permitted to transfer independently of admission quotas.
② The period for transfers shall not exceed 30 days from the date each semester begins.
③ Details relating to transfers shall be specified in the enforcement regulations.
Article 11 (Re-admission) ① If a person who has been expelled wishes to be re-admitted, such person may be granted re-admission not more than 1 time within 3 years from the date of expulsion; provided, however, that the total number of persons re-admitted shall not exceed the difference between the enrollment quota for the academic year in question and the number of students actually enrolled. Persons expelled as per the provisions of Article 19, Items 3 through 4 shall not be granted re-admission.
② If a person who has been expelled more than 3 years ago wishes to be re-admitted, such request for re-admission shall be deliberated by the Graduate School Council.
③ Credits acquired prior to expulsion may be recognized for persons who are re-admitted.
③ Details relating to re-admission shall be specified in the enforcement regulations.
Article 12 (Granting of admission) Admission shall be granted by the President, following an assessment meeting by the Graduate School Council. <Amended 2009.3.1>
Chapter 3 Minimum and maximum enrollment periods
Article 13 (Definition of minimum and maximum enrollment periods) The minimum enrollment period refers to the minimum number of enrolled semesters for acquiring a degree, and the maximum enrollment period refers to the maximum number of enrolled semesters allowed by each program.
Article 14 (Minimum enrollment period) ① The minimum enrollment periods of each graduate school shall be as follows; provided, however, that persons having completed the minimum credit requirement for completion for combined programs operated by departments in the Songsim Campus or doctoral degree programs operated by departments in the Songeui Campus may have their minimum enrollment periods reduced by no more than 1 year for Songsim Campus combined programs, and by no more than 6 months for Songeui Campus doctoral degree programs, with approval from the President following deliberation by the Graduate School Steering Committee. <Amended 2007.9.1, 2009.3.1, 2009.11.24, 2012.10.1, 2012.11.28, 2011.3.1., 2014.3.25., 2016.3.1.>
1. General Graduate School: 2 years for master’s degree programs; 3 years for doctoral degree programs; 4 years for combined programs; provided, however, that the minimum enrollment period for doctoral degree programs operated by the Integrative Medicine Department and departments on the Songsim Campus shall be 2 years <Amended 2014.3.25., 2016.6.21., 2017.1.25.>
2. Special graduate schools: 2 years and 6 months for master’s degree programs (5 semesters); provided, however, that the minimum enrollment period for the Graduate School of Public Administration, the Graduate School of Business Administration, the Nicholas Cardinal Cheong Graduate School for Life, Graduate School of Education and the Graduate School of Social Welfare shall be 2 years (4 semesters). The minimum enrollment period for the Graduate School of Canon Law shall be 3 years (6 semesters). <Amended 2014.11.22, 2017.1.25, 2017.9.22, 2017.11.22>
3. Professional Graduate Schools: To be prescribed separately
② Details relating to reduction of the minimum enrollment period shall be prescribed through the Academic Enforcement Regulations of the Songsim and Songeui campuses of the General Graduate School. <Amended 2011.3.1., 2014.3.25., 2016.3.1.>
Article 15 (Maximum enrollment period) ① The maximum enrollment periods of each graduate school shall be as follows. <Amended 2009.3.1., 2016.6.21., 2017.1.25.>
1. General Graduate School: 3 years for master’s degree programs; 5 years for doctoral degree programs; 7 years for combined programs.
2. Special graduate schools: 4 years for master’s degree programs; provided, however, that the maximum enrollment period for the Graduate School of Canon Law shall be 4 years and 6 months.
3. Professional Graduate Schools: To be prescribed separately
② Students may not be enrolled beyond the prescribed limits. In the case of the special graduate schools, however, the maximum enrollment period may be extended by no more than 1 year with the approval of the President following deliberation by the Steering Committee of the applicable special graduate school.
Chapter 4 Registration, leave of absence, reinstatement and expulsion
Article 16 (Registration) ① Students granted admission shall submit the prescribed documents and make payment of tuition fees within the prescribed period.
② Currently enrolled students shall make payment of tuition fees within a prescribed period for each semester.
Article 17 (Leaves of absence) ① When a student is unable to attend more than 1/4 of classes from the date classes begin due to reasons such as military service, pregnancy, childbirth, illness or other inevitable factors, such student may take a leave of absence with permission from the Dean of the General Graduate School, or the Dean of the relevant Special Graduate School or Professional Graduate School (hereinafter “Dean”). <Amended 2009.3.1., 2016.3.22>
② Leaves of absence shall not count toward the maximum enrollment period.
③ Details relating to leaves of absence shall be prescribed by the enforcement regulations.
④ Leaves of absence for military service, pregnancy, childbirth and childcare shall not be included in the leaves of absence under Paragraph 3. <Newly Inserted 2016.3.22.>
Article 18 (Reinstatement) A person who wishes to be reinstated may be reinstated with permission from the President of the graduate school, by no later than the point in time at which 1/4 of class days have passed since the date classes began for the semester. (Note: Separate provisions will be provided for the Professional Graduate Schools.) <Amended 2009.3.1>
Article 19 (Expulsion) A student falling under any of the following categories shall be expelled by the President upon receiving a formal request from the relevant Dean.
1. Student who has not been reinstated after their leave of absence has elapsed
2. Student who has failed to make payment of tuition fees within the prescribed period
3. Student who has failed to meet credit requirements by the time the maximum enrollment period has elapsed
4. Student who has received a disposition of expulsion as a disciplinary measure
Chapter 5 Curricula, credits, grades and completion
Article 20 (Curricula) The curricula of the graduate schools shall be established separately, with deliberation by the Graduate School Council.
Article 21 (Maximum credits per semester) The maximum credits obtainable per semester for each of the degree programs of the graduate schools shall be prescribed in the Enforcement Regulations.
Article 22 (Academic grades) Academic grades, scores and grade point averages shall be as follows.
Article 23 (Effective grades and grades for completion) ① Credits shall be recognized only for academic grades of C° or higher; however, individual graduate schools have the discretion to raise the minimum effective grade by specifying it in the Enforcement Regulations.
② Completion of a degree program requires a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. (Separate provisions will be prescribed for the Professional Graduate Schools) <Amended 2009.3.1>
Article 24 (Acknowledgment of completion and minimum credit requirement) ① Students who have been enrolled for at least the minimum enrollment period for each degree program as prescribed in Article 14 and have completed the prescribed credit requirements shall be acknowledged as having completed the master's degree program or doctoral degree program in question. Furthermore, students enrolled in combined programs who have been enrolled for at least the minimum enrollment period of a General Graduate School master’s degree program and who have acquired all necessary credits for completion of said master’s degree program shall be acknowledged to have completed the master’s degree program.
② The minimum credit requirement for completion of a graduate school master’s degree program shall be 24 credits. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the minimum credit requirement for the Department of Theology of the General Graduate School shall be 36 credits; the minimum credit requirement for the Graduate School of Public Health, the Graduate School of Healthcare and Policy, the Graduate School of Clinical Dental Science and the Graduate School of Clinical Nursing Science shall be 26 credits; the minimum credit requirement for the Graduate School of Church Music shall be 35 credits; and, the minimum credit requirement for the Graduate School of Canon Law shall be 88 credits. <Amended 2009.3.1, 2011.10.18., 2013.10.8., 2016.6.21., 2017.1.25., 2018.4.28>
③ The minimum credit requirement for completion of a doctoral degree program of the General Graduate School shall be 60 credits, including those credits acquired in a master’s degree program which are recognized by the doctoral degree program.
④ The minimum credit requirement for completion of a General Graduate School combined program shall be 60 credits; provided, however, that the minimum credit requirements for combined programs operated by departments on the Songsim Campus shall be 54. <Amended 2016.3.1.>
⑤ Separate requirements shall apply for the professional graduate schools. <Newly Inserted 2009.3.1>
Article 25 (Enrollment of bachelor's degree program students in graduate school courses) ① Students enrolled in bachelor's degree programs of the School who have outstanding academic performance may be permitted to enroll in courses offered by the General Graduate School, up to a maximum of 6 credits.
② Details relating to available courses, qualifications and recognition of credits in the previous paragraph shall be prescribed through the enforcement regulations.
③ 5-year combined bachelor's and master’s degrees shall be operated, linking bachelor's degree programs and master’s degree programs of the graduate schools. Details relating to the operation of such programs shall be prescribed through the ‘Combined Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Program Regulations’. <Newly Inserted 2008.1.1>
Article 26 (Recognition of credits acquired at other graduate schools) ① Credits acquired by a student of a graduate school in the School or another graduate school in Korea or abroad may be counted toward the minimum credit requirements prescribed in Article 24, in accordance with the Enforcement Regulations and the ‘Bylaws on Credit Exchange Between the Graduate School and Special Graduate Schools’.
② Recognition of credits as per the preceding paragraph shall not be used to reduce the minimum enrollment period prescribed in Article 14.
③ For students Conscripted by the armed forces, up to 12 credit exchange credits from academic-military partnership universities and military educational institutions may be recognized, and Paragraph 2 above shall not apply. <Amended 2006.3.1>
⑤ Separate provisions shall apply for the professional graduate schools. <Newly Inserted 2009.3.1>
Chapter 6 Theses and conferral of degrees
Article 27 (Qualifications to submit degree theses) ① A person who has acquired all credits necessary for the completion of the respective degree program and who has passed the thesis qualification examination may submit a thesis.
② In principle, the thesis qualification examination shall consist of a general examination and a foreign language examination. Different tests may apply depending on the characteristics of each graduate school, and details relating hereto shall be prescribed through the enforcement regulations.
Article 28 (Examination of degree theses) ① Degree theses shall be examined by examiners (at least 3 examiners for master’s degree programs, and at least 5 examiners for doctoral degree programs), which shall be appointed by the Dean following a review by the steering committee (hereinafter “steering committee” of each graduate school.
② Details relating to examination of degree theses shall be prescribed through the enforcement regulations.
③ Separate provisions shall apply for the professional graduate schools. <Newly Inserted 2009.3.1>
Article 29 (Conferral of degrees and types of degrees) ① When a student who satisfies the degree thesis submittal qualifications for each degree program of the graduate school has submitted his or her degree thesis and passed the thesis defense, a degree shall be conferred thereupon, using the degree certificates in Attachments 1, 2 and 3. (Separate standards for conferral of degrees shall be established for the Professional Graduate Schools) <Amended 2009.3.1>
② A student who drops out of a combined program but who has satisfied all the requirements for conferral of a General Graduate School master’s degree may be conferred a master’s degree. <Amended 2010.10.15>
③ Details relating to conferral of degrees shall be prescribed by the enforcement regulations.
Article 29-2 (Conferral of dual degrees and joint degrees) The School may, by arrangement with other universities (including foreign universities), confer dual degrees or joint degrees. Details relating to the same shall be prescribed separately.

Article 30 (Honorary doctoral degrees) ① Persons who have made a special contribution to the progress of Korean academia and culture, or who have special merit in improving human culture, may be conferred an honorary doctoral degree following review by the Graduate School Council.
② Types of honorary doctoral degrees shall be the same as the types of doctoral degrees specified in Attachment 1.
Article 31 (Publishing of doctoral degree theses) A person who has been conferred a doctoral degree shall publish his doctoral degree thesis within 1 year of such conferral.
Article 32 (Cancellation of conferral of degrees) If a person conferred a degree has been found to have received such degree through unfair means, or if a person conferred an honorary doctoral degree has failed to uphold such honor, the conferral of the degree in question may be canceled through deliberation by the Graduate School Committee. <Amended 2016.3.1.>
Chapter 7 Research programs
Article 33 (Purpose) The graduate schools may establish research programs without conferral of degrees, the purpose of such programs being research through attendance in certain courses.
Article 34 (Admission) ① Persons having academic qualifications equivalent to those of a university graduate and having passed the admissions screening process for a research program may be granted admission as a research student.
② The provisions of Article 8 shall apply with necessary modifications to the admissions process for research programs.
Article 35 (Minimum enrollment requirement) The minimum enrollment requirement for a research program shall not exceed 1 year.
Article 36 (Completion) ① Persons having completed a research program may be issued a research achievement certificate for the subject matter or research task in question.
② Credits acquired in research programs shall not be recognized in the graduate school admission process.
Chapter 8 Open courses
Article 37 (Open courses) ① The graduate schools may offer open courses to provide instruction to persons wishing to build general knowledge or job- or research-related professional knowledge and techniques, and issue certificates of completion to those who complete such courses.
② The name, title, duration, class size, location and other matters relating to open courses shall be determined and announced by the President.
③ Details relating to offering and operation of open courses shall be prescribed separately.
Chapter 9 Student advisory and scholarships
Article 38 (Student advisory) Students of the graduate schools shall comply with these school regulations, and shall be advised by the dean and director of their respective graduate schools, their department head, the lead professor of their major, and their thesis advisor.
Article 39 (Scholarships) ① Persons having outstanding academic grades and decent conduct may be provided scholarships (or research grants).
② Details relating to the provision of scholarships shall be prescribed separately by each graduate school.
③ For students Conscripted by the military forces, 50% of tuition fees (excluding admission fees) may be waived. <Amended 2006.3.1>
Article 40 (Disciplinary measures) ① A student of the graduate schools who has violated these School Regulations or who has engaged in acts which are in neglect of his or her duty may be subjected to disciplinary measures.
② Details relating to types of disciplinary measures and procedures shall be prescribed through the Enforcement Regulations.
Chapter 10 Organization and the Graduate School Council
Article 41 (Organization) ① The General Graduate School shall have a Dean, Songsim Campus Dean, and directors for each campus. <Amended 2017.9.22.>
② Each special graduate school shall have a dean and a director.
③ The professional graduate schools shall have a dean and a deputy dean. <Newly Inserted 2009.3.1>
④ The graduate schools may have one department chair (lead professor) for each department (major), and assign an advisor to each student.
⑤ The graduate schools may have a number of staff to carry out administrative affairs.
⑥ Details relating to the organization of the graduate schools shall be prescribed through the enforcement regulations.
Article 42 (Composition of the Graduate School Council and the Professional Graduate School Council) ① A Graduate School Council shall deliberate on important matters relating to the operation of the School’s graduate schools, and a Professional Graduate School Council shall deliberate on important matters relating to the operation of the professional graduates schools. <Amended 2009.3.1>
② The Graduate School Council shall consist of at least 13 members appointed by the President, including the dean of each graduate school as an ex-officio member.
③ Details related to the composition and operation of graduate school councils shall be prescribed separately.
④ Details related to the composition and operation of professional graduate school councils shall be prescribed separately. <Newly Inserted 2009.3.1>
Article 43 (Matters deliberated by the graduate school councils) Graduate school councils shall deliberate on the following matters.
1. Matters relating to admissions, completion and conferral of degrees
2. Installation and closing of departments or majors, and admission quotas
3. Matters relating to curricula
4. Matters relating to the establishment, enforcement and repeal of various regulations relating to the graduate school
5. Other important matters relating to the operation of the graduate school
Article 44 (Steering committees of each graduate school) ① Each graduate school shall have a steering committee to deliberate on matters referred by the graduate school council, and on general matters relating to the operation of the graduate school.
② Details relating to the composition and operation of the steering committees, as well as matters deliberated thereby, shall be prescribed through the Enforcement Regulations.
Chapter 11 Supplementary provisions
Article 45 (Regulations applied mutatis mutandis) The regulations of the School shall apply to matters not prescribed herein, such as number of school days and holidays.
Article 46 (Establishment of enforcement regulations) Details necessary for enforcement of these school regulations shall be prescribed through the Enforcement Regulations.
Addenda
Article 1 (Enforcement date) These school regulations shall enter into force from 2003.9.1.
Article 2 (Repealed regulations) The former graduate school regulations, and the school regulations of the Graduate School of Public Health, the Graduate School of Social Welfare, the Graduate School of Counseling, the Graduate School of Healthcare and Policy, the Graduate School of Education, the Graduate School of Public Administration, the Graduate School of Clinical Dental Science, the Graduate School of Clinical Nursing Science, the Graduate School of Culture & Spirituality, the Graduate School of Business Administration, and the Graduate School of Church Music shall be repealed upon the enforcement of these school regulations.
Article 3 (Transitional measure) In cases where the enforcement of these school regulations upon repeal of the former school regulations according to Article 2 of these Addenda is disadvantageous to currently enrolled students of each graduate school, the former school regulations shall apply.
Addenda
Article 1 (Enforcement date) These revised school regulations (Article 3, Paragraph 3; Article 37; Attachment 1; Attachment 2) shall enter into force from 2003.12.1.
Article 2 (Transitional measure) The general admission quota for the General Graduate School (Attachment 1) shall enter into force from the 2005 academic year.
Addenda
Article 1 (Enforcement date) These revised school regulations (Article 2; Article 14; Article 24 ②; Attachment 1; Attachment 2) shall enter into force from 2004.9.6; however, the adjusted graduate school enrollment quota shall enter into force from 2005.3.1.
Article 2 (Transitional measures for establishment and re-naming of departments and majors) ① Students enrolled in the Graduate School of Public Health shall be conferred degrees according to the type of degree prescribed in these school regulations prior to amendment, even if the name of their major has been changed.
② Students enrolled in the Department of International Studies of the Graduate School of Public Administration having entered the School in or prior to 2004 shall remain students of said department until the conferral of their degree, unless such students transfer out of the department.
③ Students enrolled in the Graduate School of Culture & Spirituality who have entered the School in or prior to 2004 shall become students of the newly established Department of Culture & Spirituality.
④ Students enrolled in the Department of Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry in the Graduate School of Clinical Dental Science who have entered the School in or prior to 2004 shall become students of the so-renamed Department of Prosthodontics.
⑤ Students enrolled in the infection and nursing major of the Graduate School of Clinical Nursing Science who have entered the School in or prior to 2004 shall become students of the so-renamed infection control and nursing major.
Addenda
Article 1 (Enforcement date) ① These revised school regulations (Article 4, Attachments 1 and 2) shall enter into force from 2005.9.1, and the graduate school enrollment quota adjustments for the 2006 academic year shall apply from 2006.3.1.
② Article 24, Paragraph 2 as amended shall enter into force from 2006.3.1.
Article 2 (Measures following the establishment and closing of departments and majors) ① Students of the Department of Medicine majoring in Medical Cell Biology, Life Medical Science, Immunology and Microbiology, Neurobiology or Cancer Biology and students enrolled in the joint medical sciences program who have entered the school in or prior to the 2005 academic year shall be considered to be enrolled in the Department of Life Medical Science.
② Students who have completed the Medical Cell Biology and Life Medical Science majors of the Department of Medicine, or who have completed the joint medical sciences program in or prior to the 2005 academic year, shall maintain their school affiliation at the time of completion.
③ Master of Business Administration (IT major) degrees shall be conferred by the Graduate School of Business Administration to students graduating from Fall 2004 onwards.

Article 1 (Enforcement date) These revised school regulations (Article 4, Attachment 2) shall enter into force from 2005.9.1.
Article 2 (Transitional measure for change to department names) ① Students enrolled in the Epidemiology and Public Health Statistics major of the Graduate School of Public Health who have entered the School in or prior to the 2005 academic year shall become students of the so-renamed epidemiology and clinical trial science major.
② Students enrolled in the spiritual psychological counseling major of the Graduate School of Counseling who have entered the School in or prior to 2005 shall become students of the so-renamed spiritual counseling major.
Addendum
Article 1 (Enforcement date) These revised school regulations (Article 4, Attachments 1 and 2) shall enter into force from 20005.10.10, and shall apply from 2006.3.1.

Article 2 (Transitional Measure for Consolidation of Special Graduate Schools) ① The revised school regulations according to the consolidation of the special graduate schools shall apply to students entering the School in the Spring semester of 2015 onwards.
② Students of the Graduate School of Public Administration, the Graduate School of Business Administration, and the Graduate School of Hallyu Studies who entered the School in or prior to the 2015 academic year shall be considered as enrolled in their respective graduate schools until such time they graduate; however, if a student so wishes, the student’s affiliation may be changed to a department (major) within the Graduate School of Global Convergence, with the matter to be deliberated separately. <Amended 2014.12.27.>
Article 3 (Transitional measure for adjustment of minimum enrollment period) The adjustment of the minimum enrollment period of the Graduate School of Global Convergence to 2 years (4 semesters) under Article 14 of these school regulations notwithstanding, the school regulations prior to amendment shall apply to students enrolled in the Graduate School of Public Administration at the time of amendment, until the time such students graduate. <Newly Inserted 2014.12.27.>

② Students of the Graduate School of Global Convergence who have entered the School in or prior to the 2018 academic year shall be considered as enrolled in the same until such time as they graduate. Notwithstanding the foregoing, in cases where a student so wishes, the student’s affiliation may be changed to the Graduate School of Business Administration (for students in the Department of Business Administration) or the Graduate School of Public Administration (for students in the Department of Public Administration), with the matter to be deliberated separately.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, the addition of Doctor of Education to Attachment 1 shall apply from 2017.11.11, and the minimum enrollment period for the Graduate School of Social Welfare in Article 14 and the departments, majors and degrees of the Graduate School of Social Welfare shall apply from the Spring semester of the 2018 academic year onwards.
Article 2 (Transitional measure for elimination and establishment of departments) Students enrolled in the Department of Youth Welfare and Department of Welfare for the Disabled of the Graduate School of Social Welfare, which are to be abolished, shall maintain affiliation with their respective departments until such time as they graduate. Notwithstanding the foregoing, in cases where the student desires to transfer to another department, transfers shall be permitted pending separate deliberation.
